The School was founded by Late Sir Fazle Hasan Abed in 2004 in Dhaka, Bangladesh to address the unmet public health challenges particular to Asia, Africa and South America. The School is dedicated to contributing to public health by creating public health leaders and innovative solutions through cutting-edge and experiential Education, Training, and Research to inform policies and programmes.

GRADUATES
Our MPH programme attracts a student body of health and development professionals from around the world. More than 562 students with diverse academic backgrounds in the social sciences and medicine across 34 countries have graduated with an MPH degree from BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University.

Multi-disciplinary teams at the School engage in research on a range of topics, including, but not limited to, urban and rural health, socioeconomic development, poverty, infectious and non-communicable diseases, nutrition, gender equity and rights, sexual and reproductive health and rights, digital health, human rights, health systems and workforce, health equity, and healthcare financing.
RESEARCH PROJECTS
Our research is supported by over 150 global funders and 200 national and international partners spanning 6 continents. We work closely with Government, BRAC, other service delivery organisations, key stakeholders, and civil society.
Under the School’s 5 Centres of Excellence the research projects investigate the most pressing public health needs of the country, identify evidence-based solutions, and influence policy and programmes.
